Privacy policy
Effective from October 12, 2026
This page explains what data the GreekWords app (Android and web) and the greekplus.world site collect, why, and how to delete it. We collect only what the app needs to work.
Without signing in
The app can be used without signing in. Progress, settings and your own words then stay on the device and are not sent to the server. Audio is downloaded from our server, which, like any website, sees the device's IP address (see “Technical logs”).
When you sign in with Google
- your email address and Google account ID — to recognise you when you sign in again;
- learning data: word progress, study statistics, favourite and custom words, test results, completed texts and lessons, app settings — so they are kept safe and available on all your devices.
We never receive or store a password. Pictures you add to words stay on the device only.
Technical logs
The server logs requests (time, requested address, IP address) to prevent abuse and find errors. Logs are deleted automatically after 5 days.
What we don't do
- no ads and no advertising identifiers;
- no third-party analytics or tracking;
- we don't sell or share data with third parties.
Where data is stored
On our server at the hosting provider DigitalOcean. Connections are always encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in is verified by Google. A backup is made every night and kept for 7 days.
Deleting your data
In the app: Profile → Settings → Sync → “Delete profile”. Your email and all learning data are deleted from the server immediately and from backups within 7 days. Data on the device itself stays until you uninstall the app. You can also ask for deletion by email.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
